(Matthew 6:33) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Bless it be the name of the Lord, my brothers and sisters! I pray that the presence of our Father God is filling your physical and spiritual home with much love, peace, joy, and happiness. As this world gets darker, the light of the Lord is becoming brighter through His chosen saints who are rising and lifting their voices like trumpets. There are street preachers and evangelists who are sounding the alarm and being persecuted for it. Let’s keep them in our prayers, shall we?

Anyhoo, have you ever wondered why the rate of first-time marriages of 35%-50% end in divorce? Or why there are high rates of murder, theft, sexual immorality, unplanned pregnancies, diseases, and even abortions? Each of us may come up with different excuses or reasons why. Such as, well, we’re sinners, point blank. Disobedience is certainly a plausible reason. However, what about Matthew 6:33? Our issue is that we’re so quick to give in to our fleshly impulses that we don’t realize that seeking God first would help us make the right decisions. I mentioned in other posts that the Word of God is our blueprint, guideline, and God’s instruction on how we’re supposed to be as followers. The God-breathing scriptures point out everything that we ought to do and not do, and His blunt consequences are clearly displayed. We should be learning from the experiences of the Israelites in the Old and New Testaments, but it seems to me that history is repeating itself, and prophecies are being fulfilled because God is all-knowing. Think about it, if we seek God first and follow His guidelines we would know how to choose our spouses according to His standards. Let’s be real, King Jesus spoke about divorce and was against it. If you don’t believe me read Matthew 5 and 19, Mark 10, and Luke 16. Now, I’m not calling out unbelievers or those who are left without a choice, but to divorce in this message. I’m calling out those who claim to be Bible-obeying followers of Christ who are not opposed to divorce, encourage it and don’t want to put forth the work in their marriage. Hello! You are two different individuals with different personalities, but when you love one another according to the standards of God not giving the devil any room in your marriage would be a priority. God wants our marriages to work, but since we don’t seek Him first we tend to make the wrong choices based on our flesh and hearts which is deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9). Let’s look to the Lord and learn of Him because only He knows what’s best for us. When we put our full trust in the Father, He will be gracious enough to supply us with what and who we need. Please, let me know your thoughts by commenting below. Until next time, may the Lord bless thee and keep thee. Love y’all! Shalom.
