“So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. Revelation 17: 3-5
I felt completely blinded and unknowledgeable before my transformation through God’s Holy Spirit because I actually assumed that this scripture was referring to the city of Babylon. So, I asked myself, “Isn’t Babylon in ruins since it was destroyed and who is the female?” Yeah, I know I had a lot to learn, and I’m still learning. It takes a lot of time and study to understand God’s words because there are a lot of symbolism. Like how John the Divine refers the Roman Empire as Babylon during the persecution of Christians. Discerning Revelation 17 and 18 was a doozy, but through the Holy Spirit along with other scholarly imputes I was able to discern. Now, before I explain my views, what does Babylon mean in the Book of Revelation to you?
