Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband (1 Corinthians 7:1-3).
Bless it be the name of the Lord, my beautiful readers! I pray that your week is at a great start, filled with joy and peace from our only truly wise, Heavenly Creator. The scriptures above are actually one of my favorites. They’re simple scriptures that are straight to the point. God clearly commanded us that in order to not fall into the pits of lust that would cause damnation to not only our bodies but to our souls, we must do whatever we can to flee temptation. You see, in this world, the devil has caused fornication to become the norm or something that couples are supposed to do outside of marriage. Can’t you see that the enemy does the complete opposite of what God has commanded, and when we don’t have the knowledge of the Word of God, we fall right in line with the enemy’s lies and destruction? Fornication is destructive to a person because it causes unwanted ties to others, diseases, and unwanted pregnancies. Sometimes out of the blue, the enemy would try me by bringing in my memory of past experiences with old boyfriends. I’m still a sinner with a past that I regret, but by the grace of God, I can count on my fingers how many guys I slept with, which isn’t a lot, and I have God to thank for that because He was with me during my rebellion. Back to my point, why do you think the devil played those memories in my mind? It’s simple, because of my disobedience by fornicating, those guys are tied to me, and it would only take the power of God to bring peace to forgive myself. This is why God ordained marriages so that we could be safe, happy, and blameless. Nowadays, children aren’t taught about the importance of celibacy and marriage according to God’s standards, which is why there are so many teen pregnancies. God made marriage to be beautiful and selfless, unifying the oneness between a man and woman, which is symbolic of the oneness we have with Christ as His people (Galatians 3:28, 1 Corinthians 12:13). Now I mentioned in a previous blog that marriage isn’t for everyone, which is another thing that society has stressed and made the norm. Not everyone has to get married, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that (1 Corinthian 7: 7-9). Yeah, women have the desire to birth children, and temptation is a beast, but is there anything too hard for the Lord? I mentioned before that if God changed me and opened my eyes before my children and husband, I would’ve honestly been like Paul because when you get a true taste of the goodness of the Lord, you wouldn’t have the need for anything else. He is all we need, and He fills every void. I would love your feedback, so please comment below if you can. I am revising The Power of God Changes All: Series One: The Beginning and Series Two: Slivers & Skulls and will make them available for purchase on my website, coming to you soon. So, please keep a lookout for them. God bless!
