(Malachi 2:16) “For the Lord, the God of Israel, saith that He hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the Lord of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.” (Matthew 19:6) “Therefore they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”
Bless be the name of the Lord, my beautiful readers! I pray that God, who is the keeper of our souls, is protecting you all during this pleasant weekend so far. Ever since I’ve been changed by the power of God’s Holy Spirit my eyes have been opened to a lot of things that are contrary to the standards of His Word. The devil, who is unfortunately the god of this world, has made certain things the norm. One of them, for instance, is divorce. While the world seems to accept divorce (or putting away) as the King James Version refers to it, Malachi mentions that our Father in heaven hates it. Why? Well, it’s simple, my brothers and sisters by understanding the spiritual intention of marriage we would see that the commitment between man and woman serves as a symbol of God’s promises to His people. It’s also symbolic of the love that Christ has for the church. Although divorce is often practiced, it was exclusively from the men during Malachi’s time. Nevertheless, it has gotten worse over the centuries, and it’s to where people are throwing divorce parties to celebrate their detachment from what God specifically joined together. I mean, have people gone so far from God that people they need to celebrate something that causes dysfunction in a family? Hello! Divorce damages children. I know there are some marriages that are extremely bad, but let’s understand that God doesn’t choose our spouses. We do, and we cause our own destruction when we don’t take heed to the signs that someone isn’t good for us. Especially, if we’re unequally yoked with them (2 Corinthians 6:14). God wants us to work out our problems with our spouses, instead of giving up on what He has joined together. Nevertheless, if an unbelieving husband or wife chooses to leave on account of one’s belief, then according to scripture they can go (1 Corinthians 7:15). However, did God ever give us permission to remarry? According to Matthew 5:31-32 and Mark 10:11-12, King Jesus stated that “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. 12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.” His words were clear as day, so why aren’t we taking heed? To all the males who give themselves certain titles that practically carry the same duties, you can’t call yourself a leader if you’re not abiding by the qualifications from 1 Timothy Chapter 3, which mentions having only one wife. To the women leaders, well, 1 Timothy Chapter 3 is pretty clear. Nevertheless, if God gives you a certain task that involves leadership should you not be an example? I know it sounds as if I’m judging, but I’m just speaking out on a subject that certain people don’t want to address. Everyone seems to be smiling and accepting certain sinful actions without showing love by sounding the alarm. I don’t know about you all, but I want to see all my loved ones whether they’re blood or not peacefully in God’s kingdom. Let me know what you all think by commenting below. Until next time, may the Lord bless thee and keep thee. Love you all! Shalom.
